As you know, I am passionate about good oral health. It’s important throughout all stages of life, especially during pregnancy. And it is often overlooked. There are some myths around getting dental care during pregnancy. Although most obstetricians and dentists agree there is a need for oral health care during this time, they do not always encourage pregnant women to get the care they need. What’s worse, because of the lack of encouragement, there are women who still believe that they’ll lose a tooth while pregnant, or they can’t have dental x-rays. The list of bad advice and old wives tales goes on!
IHI is in the process of designing a new oral health care program for women that are pregnant, and those that are considering becoming pregnant. Topics include what’s safe for the expectant mother and baby; practicing good oral hygiene; and actions to take after birth to start your baby out right. This program is designed to be informative, interactive and fun.
If you’re interested in participating with IHI in this brand-new program, we’d love to have your partnership. Call us at: 503.341.0593.
